Whatever your level of skill, Roadcraft in Nottingham have a course to suit you. From basic CBT to police style advanced rider training, we cater for everyone's requirements. |
|
 |
This is a one-hour lesson for the total beginner/novice. You will be shown the controls of the motorbike (which will be supplied by us), and you will go on to riding it and changing gears. This will normally be adequate for basic familiarisation, and has the added advantage of letting you find out if you enjoy it before paying for a full motorcycle licence training course. |

 |
"CBT", or Compulsory Basic Training,
was introduced in December 1990. Anyone with a provisional two-wheeled
licence of any kind must take this course to validate their motorcycle licence.
This training course will contain all the information necessary to pass
the C.B.T as easily as possible, and should take around five hours to complete
provided you are up to the Roadcraft standard.
Roadcraft conducts the CBT from
Tuesday to Friday from 10.00am. Once achieved, the C.B.T is
valid for two years and allows any motorcycle, geared or automatic, up
to 125cc to be ridden provided the rider has reached the minimum age required. |

Our 'unlimited training guarantee' is what has earned Roadcraft Motorcycle training its excellent reputation in Nottingham. You can choose to train without financial pressure (days/weekends) and we will stay with you until you get your full licence provided you turn up for your lessons. Bike-to-Bike radio intercoms are used on the road lessons to get you used to the examiner's radio on the test. |

 |
If you are aged 21 or over,
you can skip over the 33bhp limit on 125 tests and obtain your full, unrestricted
licence by passing on a 500cc motorbike. CBT will be carried out on a 125cc
motorcycle, followed by initial 125 road training to allow you to gain
confidence and experience.
The lessons take about one hour per lesson
and are conducted during the day in the week, later on in the afternoon or
on a Saturday. Once competent on the 125's (average of 6-8 lessons) you
will progress onto the 500cc bikes and train until test ready.
On the day of the final test, Roadcraft will
meet you about one hour early and take you to the Test Centre whilst giving
you a "mock test" type polish up. We will wait for you whilst you take
the test and follow you back to our shop afterwards. We call this a "pre-test" |

With the emphasis on safety, advanced training is carried out to a police style advanced system which is based on the advanced rider's manual "Roadcraft"
The course takes the form of a one day advanced training lesson taking in extensive countryside roads around Nottinghamshire (Russ, the owner's favourites) and will improve your cornering techniques, speed in bends, forward planning skills and will improve fuel efficiency and passenger friendliness through systematic riding and concentration. There will be a lunch stop half way through. A copy of "Roadcraft, the police rider's manual" will be included in the price (see price list)
Since starting the one day advanced courses, we have had excellent reviews (see our testimonials page) or call us at our motorcycle shop on (0115) 929 7414 |
